Please choose a question:
What are the advantages of high energy x-ray technology in comparison to gamma ray technology?
What are current radiation regulations, and how do you handle them?
What field equipment does HESCO regularly use?
What are the dosage rate comparisons between cobalt 60, iridium 192 2, 4, and 6 Mv linear accelerators?

  • High energy x-ray is much quicker than gamma ray radiography.
  • Although high energy x-ray is much stronger field of radiation, it is better "collimated," meaning the beam is focused, not emitting radiation in all directions as with gamma ray.
  • High energy x-ray makes radiography of very thick sections economically feasible.
  • Requires short exposure times, which permits high throughput rates.
  • No need for special clearance or documentation for shipping equipment.

High-energy x-ray technology has no restrictions on transportation of the machine. There are certain notification registrations and fees that must be submitted to certain states and all radiation safety procedures follow the guidelines of the nrc.
